The 1st event in 2017 by Ski Association of Hong Kong, China (SA-HK) was held on 5-8 January in Zhangjiakou, a few hours drive north-west of Beijing. Besides bringing children to the snow, SA-HK, according to Chairman Mr. Edmond Yue would try to promote the sport of skiing in China towards 2022 Winter Olympic which will also be held in Zhangjiakou.
In 2 1/2 days of training and competition, children competed in the Downhill Slalom in three grades categories namely A/B, C and Junior. Besides individual winners, the overall champion went to Diocesan Boys' School and first runner-up to International College of Hong Kong. There were also 8 candidates being assessed of their ability to compete for the Hong Kong Ski Team. Eventually 3 were assessed as Silver Level by SA-HK and they will be invited to join the Hong Kong Ski Team soon.
The next ''Bring Children to the Snow'' event will be held in Club Med's Beidahu ski resort in Jilin, China on 13-16 March, 2017. Associate members and their children are welcome to join. Registration and information could be found at www.sa-hk.com!
