September 2nd, 2016 Hong Kong: Ski Association of Hong Kong, China (SA-HK) was elected as a Full Member by FIS, the international Ski Federation, in June of this year. SA-HK's Chairman, Edmond Yue, used this Annual Dinner to celebrate this major leap in the development of the Ski Association in Hong Kong. Dinner was held at Gaylord Restaurant, one of the oldest and most famous Indian restaurants in Hong Kong.
In addition, SA-HK used this opportunity to welcome the newest members of the Hong Kong Ski Team, as they had successfully completed the SA-HK general assessment, held earlier this year in Hokkaido, Japan. According to Edmond, the Inter-school program, set up by the SA-HK, will actively recruit more young athletes from schools and sports clubs to be trained to become future members of the Hong Kong Ski Team. They will, eventually, be able to represent Hong Kong in many international ski and snowboard competitions such as, the 2018 Winter Olympic Games held in Korea and, the 2022 Winter Olympic Games held in China. The next general assessment will be held in January 5-8, 2017 in Zhangjiakou, China.
